- February 01, 1990 – Nintendo ships the Super Mario Bros. 3 video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the US.
- February 01, 1991 – id Software is born.
- February 04, 2000 – The Sims released.
- February 05, 1996 – Nintendo announces a delay in introducing its 64-bit video game system in the US until September 30, due to a chip shortage.
- February 05, 1999 – Enter The Game IRC Network opens.
- February 06, 1982 – The Ormond Beach Commission in Florida approves an ordinance prohibiting electronic games from being placed within 1000 feet of a school, church, or youth activity center in Ormond Beach.
- February 08, 1982 – Council of Bradley, Illinois, bars children under 16 from playing video arcade games.
- February 08, 2000 – CBS Television airs the Judging Amy TV show in the USA. A Nintendo 64 is being played without a cartridge plugged in.
- February 09, 1982 – The Boston suburb of Marlborough, Massachusettes, passes an ordinance barring the use of video games by anyone under age 18 during school class hours or late at night, and bans placement of the games within 1500 feet of public schools.
- February 12, 2003 – Sony releases the EverQuest Online Adventures video game for the PlayStation 2.
- February 17, 2005 – Microsoft issues a recall of power cords on 14.1 million Xbox consoles worldwide, following 30 reports if failure of defective electrical components, causing minor injury or property damage.
- February 19, 1982 – Mattel Electronics introduces several of its Intellivision video games modified to play on the Atari VCS game system.
- February 19, 1997 – John Carmack announces he will give away his Ferrari at E3.
- February 20, 1992 – Nintendo asks a United States trade representative to cite Taiwan for failing to stop piracy of video game cartridges, wohich would lead to Taiwan being assessed punitive duties to their exports to the US.
- February 24, 1996 – Qtest released to the public.
- February 26, 2002 – Command & Conquer: Renegade released.
